Ali MacGraw

Ali MacGraw (Elizabeth Alice MacGraw) is an American animal rights activist, author, model and actor. Love Story (1970), Goodbye Columbus '69 and The Getaway 1972 are among her most well-known films. The daughter of a family of artists in New York she wished to work in the field of art. Her first job was as a photographer's assistant before moving on to acting and modeling. MacGraw was awarded the Golden Globe Award, for the most promising young talent. MacGraw's 1970 feature film Love Story was an international smash, and earned the actress the Academy Award nomination and Golden Globe Award. In just three films, she became the top female box office star in the entire world. Her footprints, handwritten in 1972 as well as her signature were inscribed at Grauman's Chinese Theater. She was a part of several other movies, including The Getaway Convoy Players and the miniseries on TV The Winds of War among others. Her autobiography Moving Pictures was published in 1991. MacGraw was married three times.
