Ina Garten is an American author of cookbooks on cooking as well as Emmy Award-winning host for the Food Network's most popular program, Barefoot Contessa that debuted in 2002 and will run for 27 seasons till 2020. Ina started her career at the White House as a writer of nuclear energy policies and also the budget. In the beginning, she was enthralled by the intellectual rigors that came with her work, but she eventually, she began to lose interest. Instead she bought Barefoot Contessa, a specialty restaurant. Prior to selling the company the store, she worked for an entire 18 years transforming it into an extremely successful business. The cookbooks were followed by many more, and magazines columns which followed. In the meantime the Food Network show was also successful. In addition, she sells everything from equipment to cooking supplies and containers. Ina never went to any cookery schools nor did she work at a restaurant. She is entirely self-taught. Ina is known for her relaxed way of creating and entertaining. Her most well-known recipes are Skillet-Roasted Lemon Chicken Beatty's Chocolate Cake Mac and Cheese Beef Bourguignon Balsamic-Roasted Brussels Sprouts and Lemon Bars.
